Named after the quote from Mother Teresa, “If you can’t feed one hundred people, Feed Just ONE.” Minnie’s Food Pantry distributes free meals to families in need in the community on Wednesday-Saturday from 9AM-11AM. MFP distributes items that include salads, milk, cheese, peanut butter, canned vegetables, fresh and frozen meat, canned entrees, pasta, and canned tuna. Energize your employees and make them proud to work for a company that supports feeding the hungry in your community.
Minnie’s Food Pantry’s Annual Feed Just One Gala is a night of reflection where we celebrate the individuals within our community who are advocates for Minnie’s Food Pantry and as the only fundraising event for Minnie’s Food Pantry, it is guaranteed to be a night full of fun, laughter and inspiration. Your support of this event will help Minnie’s Food Pantry meet the needs of thousands of families who are affected by hunger on a daily basis.
Volunteering with your co-workers is a great way to build camaraderie and teamwork. We welcome corporate groups of all sizes to volunteer at Minnie’s Food Pantry. Through our Sponsor a Truck: Team Building Program, Minnie’s Food Pantry will purchase a truckload of food in your company’s name. You and your team will partake in a day of dancing, serving, and helping feed the community. You and your team will conclude with lunch at the pantry and discuss ways you can continue to be a voice.
Don’t have a huge budget but want to make a difference? Minnie’s Food Pantry is comprised of over 80 shelves filled with different canned goods and foods. Consider sponsoring a shelf and making a difference in your community.
When adults visit Minnie’s Food Pantry, many of them bring their children. MFP believes that every kid should “C-A-Meal”. Named in honor of Cheryl Jackson’s granddaughter, Camille, MFP proudly makes every child a C-A-Mille’s Kid and provides a fun bag filled with delicious and nutritious snacks. The bag makes every child smile and eases the mind of the parent who had to make the difficult decision to visit our facility.
When school is out, unfortunately, hunger does not take a vacation. For many kids, school breakfasts and lunches may be the only food they get each week. During the summer, schools are closed and these meals are not provided. Our Summer Lunch Program provides free lunch to children and youth age 18 and under during the summer. The program is designated for children who receive free or reduced lunches during the school year and those whose families could not otherwise afford the extra meals. Our Summer Lunch Bags consist of: sandwiches, granola bars, fruit cups and juice boxes. Also included are snacks to enjoy throughout the day such as fruit snacks, cereal bars and Jell-O cups.
When people are struggling to get jobs and they make the decision to wait at the local day labor worker site, they often have to pay a local vendor for a lunch. In an effort to help the men and women who are already struggling and can’t afford lunch from the truck, our vans deliver lunch bags to the day labor workers who line up every morning in hope of possibly receiving jobs for the day.
What would Thanksgiving be like, without a turkey? Our Thanksgiving Giveaway is our largest event of the year, utilizing over 150 volunteers who sing, laugh, and dance as they dedicate their time to feed thousands of families in our community. Local families in need of a Thanksgiving meal receive all the necessary ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving meal... a turkey and all the trimmings. The families are people that MFP has served all year as well as families referred to us by local school counselors, churches and other organizations. Volunteers adopt a family, collect food, or give away complete Thanksgiving dinners and toiletry bags. Become part of Minnie’s Food Pantry’s most coveted event and sponsor this program today!
