All of us at Minnie’s Food Pantry would like to say THANK YOU to everyone on Samsung’s Galaxy Rover team! They rolled into action when we needed it the most. Here’s what they had to say:
Like most charity organizations, Minnie?s Food Pantry felt the reverberated impact of COVID-19 as it spiraled throughout their community. Schools closed. Households lost income. As a result, MFP experienced a 39% increase in clientele. The surge in demand quickly created a shortage in supply.
Dr. Cheryl ?Action? Jackson founded Minnie?s Food Pantry in 2008 to honor her mother, the late Dr. Minnie Hawthorne?Ewing. To meet the increased demand, Dr. Jackson and her team began working with various sponsors and community partners to source more food. Securing those donations was a challenge in itself. Getting those donations to the pantry and to their clientele was something else altogether.
Meanwhile, various Samsung-sponsored events and outdoor activities were being postponed or canceled, grounding a fleet of Samsung Galaxy Rovers with full tanks of gas and nowhere to go.
